Thai Town, located in the East Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, is a vibrant and diverse community that has a rich history and delicious food!
The first Thai immigrants to the United States arrived in the late 19th century, but it wasn't until the 1960s and 1970s that a significant number of Thai people began to settle in Los Angeles. Many of these immigrants were recruited to work in the garment industry, and they settled in the area that is now known as Thai Town.
Thai Town began to take shape in the 1980s, as more and more Thai businesses opened up in the area. This included restaurants, markets, and other small businesses that served the growing Thai community in Los Angeles.
One of the things that Thai Town is known for is its delicious food. Thai cuisine is known for its bold flavors, and Thai Town is home to a wide variety of restaurants that serve authentic Thai dishes. Some of the most popular dishes in Thai Town include pad thai, tom yum goong, and green curry. Check out one of our favorites-- Hoy-Ka Thai Restaurant!
In addition to the delicious food, Thai Town is also home to a number of cultural attractions, including the Thai Cultural Center, which hosts events and exhibitions that showcase Thai culture and history.
